As part of the Warsaw Pre-Moot, we took part in the conference “Collaboration in Arbitration: Working with the Client Before and During the Dispute” at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw, where our Counsel Antoni Żukowski moderated the first panel: “How to Cooperate Effectively in Arbitration: Law Firm and In-House Legal Department”.

The discussion was joined by:
👤 Agata Zwolankiewicz (Addleshaw Goddard)
👤 Natalia Jodłowska (Webuild)
👤 Piotr Golędzinowski (Wardyński & Partners)
👤 Marcin Orecki (Gülermak).

We discussed the practical aspects of cooperation between external counsel and an in-house legal department at the successive stages of a dispute:
🧾 from the decision to opt for arbitration and the drafting of the arbitration clause,
🚀 through the commencement of proceedings and the selection of arbitrators,
🧩 to the division of roles in preparing pleadings and the involvement of in-house lawyers during the hearing.

We thank all the panellists for a substantive and dynamic discussion. A recording of the conference is available on YouTube.

The Warsaw Pre-Moot is gradually becoming a permanent fixture in BLSK’s February calendar 📅. Julita Loreth, a Paralegal in the Litigation team, was the main organiser of the Warsaw Pre-Moot, and our lawyers Antoni Żukowski and Przemysław Bednarski acted as arbitrators in the pre-moot rounds. BLSK also supports young lawyers as a sponsor of the University of Warsaw VIS Moot Team 🎓.
