Practice

Katarzyna is a distinguished scholar and professor at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw where she headed the Commercial Law Department from 2017 to 2020. Katarzyna has authored nearly 200 articles and dissertations on civil and commercial law. In 2022 she co-authored the 4th edition of a major Polish commentary to the Code of Commercial Companies (articles referring to challenging corporate resolutions) and the 5th edition of the handbook of Commercial Law (both published by C.H. Beck).

She ran the corporate dispute practice, in the Warsaw office of one of the biggest international law firms, participating as an attorney and counsel in a number of precedent-setting corporate disputes, including ones of a cross-border nature.

Katarzyna adjudicates as an arbitrator and is involved in the dissemination of alternative methods of resolving corporate and commercial disputes in Poland. She was a key member of the Corporate Arbitration Team of the Court of Arbitration at the Polish Chamber of Commerce, which was established to develop new corporate arbitration rules which came into force as from 1 January 2022.

Since October 2022, she is recognized in the ranking Top 25 Women Lawyers in Business by Forbes.

Representative cases

• Advised an investment fund in a shareholder dispute in the largest Polish food holding.
• Represented a manufacturing firm and its leading shareholder in a corporate dispute over the acquisition of an organized part of the company.
